About Miyama Co., Ltd. and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)

In September 2015, “the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit” was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, with the participation of more than 150 Heads of State and Government. And they adopted “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The Agenda sets forth declarations and goals as an action plan for people, planet and prosperity.
These goals are “the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”, which consist of 17 targets and 169 goals.

The Miyama Group is committed to solving social issues through its business activities, especially in the area of textile raw material sales, both in Japan and overseas, and aims to achieve the internationally agreed-upon goals, the SDGs. We are striving to further promote our activities so that we can create an environment and manufacture products that enable people to live better lives.
By putting specific policies for realizing the SDGs into our business activities and co-creating them throughout the industry, we will develop corporate initiatives to help everyone involved in the supply chain lead happier, more satisfying lives.
